Introduction
In this work I researched the difficulties of concentration in the classroom of the students, and the methods that teachers use to fight with the problem, how they fight with the problem and how they give motivation and interaction of the students.
And I will focus more in Coalane Secondary School, because there is a School with purposes in terms of qualities. So and the lack of concentration affect the majority of the students of that school.
We are doing to interview the teachers and the students to conclude the origin and try to find the respect solution to the problem.
2. Delimitation of the topic
The research thought about this topic because it’s worrying that institution, this case in located in Quelimane.
2.1.1. Objectives
2.1.2. General objectives:
-Is to focus the main cause of lack of concentration in Coalane Secondary school.
2.1.3 Specific objective:
-To identify the disadvantage of lack concentration in the classroom;
-Bring suggestions to have a concentration in the classroom;
-To encourage teachers in the concentration process of the students;
2.1.4. Justificatives
This topic for me is an interest topic that’s why I chose this topic, and also I chose this topic because a notable topic that needs to be discussed and most students they don’t have concentration when they are in the classroom and the purpose of this work is actually to discover the origin of the problem.
2.1.5. Problematization
The point is that in many schools are students without concentration in the classroom, and we note it focusing more in the way how they wear, how they speak and they walk, and it brings many bad results for the students and a practical example is to see a student repeating the same group four (4) or five (5) years.
Happening with the lack of concentration, it emphasizes the number of students becoming impolite or sometimes they reach to abandon the lessons desisting the school and in the same time affecting their future. So with this bad consequence of the lack of concentration in the classroom, we can get or have a question like this: What is the origin of the lack of concentration of the students Coalane Secondary School?
2.1.6. Hypotheses
1st Hypothesis: Social network (Facebook, WhatsApp, Tweeter, etc.) can be a bigger motivation of the lack concentration of the students Coalane Secondary School;
2nd Hypothesis: Romantic relationship between students, it can bring a serious problem in terms of concentration of the students Coalane Secondary School.
3rd Hypothesis: Alcohol and drug abuse also can be a factor because when the students come drunk in the classroom they don’t care about the lessons.
4th Hypothesis: Economical and biological problems can sometimes emphasize to the concentration of the students Coalane Secondary School.
2.1.7. Methodologies
2.1.8. Comparative Method Comparison is a fundamental principle of science as well as a basic element of everyday life. It is a spontaneous mental process, so that “thinking without comparison is unthinkable” (Swanson, 1971, p. 145).
And in this project the researcher tend to applier to verify the number of students that have the problem of lack of concentration in the classroom. It comes to compare the students of Coalane secondary School.
2.1.9 Mixed mod affection
This method the research choice this one to take account the real number of the students with problem, using statistics when the data is being collected it’s to facilitate the researcher to be more specifics with this problem in that Teaching Institution. Using so both qualitative and quantitative method to collect data.
2.1.10. Exploratory research
According Brown (2006:43) exploratory research tends to tackle new problems on which little or no previous research has been done.
Singh (2007:64) exploratory research is the initial research, which forms the basis of more conclusive research. It can even help in determining the research design, sampling methodology and data collection method.
So it means that in this research the research is going to use this research method actually to focus more on the origin of the problem in that school allowing so the relationship of the students with the reality.
2.1.11. Collecting data
Is to collect information by using many methods such as:
2.1.12. Interview
Wikpedia.org/interview tells that an interview is a conversation where questions are asked and answers are given.
So the research of this project is going to use interview to giving rather opened and closed question to see if there a really history interviewing the prospers students, and also interacting with the teachers and the director.
2.1.13. Observation
Cosloff said that there a special type of observation that is direct observation.
A. Direct Observation, of which there are varying degrees of observer involvement.
1. Immersing yourself (i.e., rather comprehensively covering what goes on in a social situation) while playing the role of, or being, a participant (e.g., ethnographic field research).
2. Immersing yourself, but as an observer and not as a participant.
3. Observing smaller samples of what goes on.
So in this project we are going to use observation to see directly the problem inside the school in special inside the classroom, to confirm our hypotheses
3. Literature Review
3.1. Concentration
According the Combrigde dictionary define concentration as being the ability to think carefully about something you are doing and nothing else
According to the Psychology Dictionary define that concentration is the increase act of pay attention in something;
According to Samuel Johnson o said, "The true art of memory is the art of concentration.
It means that concentration is actually to focus in only or thing or activity in progress case the students of Coalane Secondary School could only focus in the teacher explanation.
3.2. Target Population
In Coalane Secondary School there are in total 5.675 students corresponding in 2.15 students in the morning, 1.660 in the afternoon and 2000 in the night, and it’s a total of 23 classrooms and the number of students in each classroom vary between 45 and 50 students it correspond in 45% of students in the morning, 40% in the night and 15% in afternoon.
3.3. Sample
In this project the researcher worked with 45% of student that study in the night and 55% with the students that study both in the morning and afternoon. I also worked with 22 teachers corresponding in 17 woman and 5 men.
